Computers Suck – Part 2

After leaving the server to boot last night, I find it’s ready to log in this morning. So now I can start installing all the drivers for the motherboard and printer… this takes a lot longer than I hoped because Windows is taking so damn long to get to the login box.

Anyway, I get everything installed… after repairing you’ve gotta reapply any service packs, patches or hotfixes so I did that too.

I discover that I can’t log into Terminal Services from my PC, but after a bit of googling, I discover that this is caused by the NVIDIA service so after disabling that, I can log in fine. Stupid thing.

So here we are, all running great. My server has had a fantastic upgrade and won’t need any more hardware for a long time yet – probably. LOL!

Here’s a readout of the current hardware specification:

[OS] Windows Small Business Server 2003 Domain Controller (5.2 – 3790)

[CPU] 1-Intel Pentium 4, 2399MHz, 1024KB (0% Load)

[Memory] Usage: 566/1024MB (55.27%)

[Video Card] NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400

[Res] 1280×960 16bit
