Changing ISP
After a couple weeks of pretty terrible (and variable) speeds, plus a weekend of almost ISDN-like speeds, I have decided to migrate away from my old ISP and onto ADSL24. They’re an Entanet reseller and are rated highly too. I requested my MAC (Migration Authority Code) from the old ISP yesterday and received it this morning. Very efficient! Shame the rest of their service couldn’t be that good.
So hopefully it won’t take too long for the migration to go through, and I’m crossing my fingers I will be getting the speeds I’m paying for!
UPDATE: My new connection was activated today so I did 2 speedtests before changing over. The results were 1978/371 and 2023/376.
I changed the username and password in my router over to the new ones and rebooted it. Ran 2 more speedtests and here are the much improved results: 5126/375 and 6259/373. Pretty much a doubling in a speed!
I am now hoping that this isn’t just a one off and these speeds stay the same all day, every day. Guess I’ll just have to wait and see!
