Picnik

Picnik

I’ve just discovered Picnik, an online photo editor, which hooks into Flickr, Facebook, Picasa, Photobucket and Webshots, allows you to upload files directly and take pics with your webcam… and then enables you to edit them using such tools as auto-fix, rotate, crop, sharpen, rotate and adjusting of variables such as brightness and contrast.

I tried the crop function out on the Ross Noble image below, removing some of the crowd at the bottom, tightening it up on the actual stage.

Although I don’t use Flickr that much, I am finding it increasingly useful when I want to upload photos from my mobile phone, and now with Picnik I can edit the images just how I want them after uploading.

UPDATE: Picnik has evolved! They now allow access to most of the premium features only previously available to paying customers! You still need to pay for full-screen editing and a version with no adverts, but the free version is now so much better than before.
