Just Ordered A Nokia N800
Play.com have the Nokia N800 for just £129.99 [It's now priced £149.99 which is still cheaper than some places], which is around £50-60 cheaper than almost everywhere else! I just had to buy one, what a bargain. Although it’s almost Christmas, it’s already been posted and I hope it arrives tomorrow or Monday so I get to play with it over the break.
UPDATE: It arrived Monday morning, and I’ve been playing around with it like crazy. I tried upgrading to OS2008 but discovered that there were a few applications that I really wanted to fiddle with that haven’t been updated yet, so I’ve downgraded to OS2007 for now.
The Vagalume Last.fm client is awesome by the way. Been listening to My Neighbours Radio quite a bit, nice to hear some new music that I’d probably never listen to otherwise.
UPDATE 2: 2 things…
1) I’ve upgraded to OS2008 again, I realised that Dates wasn’t that great to go backwards for, and GPE Calendar had been made compatible with Chinook already. I’m sure Dates will eventually be upgraded too, there are just too many nice things about OS2008 that I missed by downgrading.
2) I have realised that by saying that you love a song on the Vagalume Last.fm client (I would imagine the same goes for the official Windows one too) it will scrobble it, otherwise there is no lasting record of you listening to it. Makes sense I suppose! I’ll just have to remember to hit the “Love It” button if I really do want people knowing what I’ve been listening to on My Neighbours radio.
UPDATE 3: Play.com put the price up to £169.99.
UPDATE 4: Play.com now has it for £149.99! A saving of £150 off the RRP.
Canola2 (in beta) is crazy cool by the way. I can’t wait for UPnP support – the only thing I think it’s missing.

Hi,
I just bought one from Play.com as well. Should be here tomorrow or so.
What apps are you referring to that havn't been updated? I'm planning to upgrade to OS2008 as well you see.
Thanks for any info.
One called Dates was first on my list, as I was hoping to get my Google Calendar information copied over. Then there were a few others that I had tried but failed to install – which I have since discovered is not an OS problem but a problem with the maemo.org repository itself.
I did however come across a fix which enables to me to install all the applications I was previously having trouble with.
Once you have repository.maemo.org and repository.maemo.org/extras listed in the application manager you must edit the URLs to something else such as stage.maemo.org or stage.maemo.org/extras. Then they will work!
The hostname repository points to an IP on an Akamai cache which is returning broken headers causing every download attempt to fail, if you change the hostname then you connect directly to the real server and they'll work perfectly.
